I started riding in 1969 on a small 80cc two-stroke dirt bike. Over the next few years I upgraded to bigger and better dirt bikes. My cousin and friends chased each other all over the Mojave Desert in California and eventually got into desert racing. The California weather allowed us to chase or race almost every weekend. I eventually picked up my first 4-stroke bike, a 1968 Honda 305 Big Bear Scrambler Dual Sport which I road to work almost every day. In 1975 a new job, wife and kids and broken bikes let me know I needed to take a break from riding.
Moved to Chicago in 1981 and in 1998 I purchased a used 1978 Yamaha 650 Twin that was in pretty good shape and started riding again. In 2001 I purchased my first Harley, a 1200 Sportster, followed by 2003 Dyna Wide Glide followed by a 2007 Electra Glide Ultra Classic and I now ride a 2013 Electra Glide Limited.
Any day you can ride is a good day but my first love is long touring rides and enjoying our beautiful country. I recently received my 100,000 mile patch which I am very proud of but still have a long bucket list of rides I want to do and places I want to see.

I’ve been riding since 2002, and bought my first new Harley, a 2002 Softail Standard, that same year.  After 34K miles, I traded it in for a new 2010 Heritage Softail.  Harley’s have always been in my family.  My father and grandfather both rode.  My mom and grandmother enjoyed being passengers.  I like Chapter rides, as well as riding alone.  In June 2004, I rode to/from California on my Standard.  In 2011, I rode my Heritage to/from Sturgis with the City Limits and Wild Fire dealerships.  Then in June 2013, I rode to the Smokey Mountains with a few Chapter friends, and of course rode the Tail of the Dragon, twice.  I have been a City Limits Chapter member since August 2010.  Getting more involved, I am now the Merchandise Officer.

Started riding in 1973. I had several friends that had started riding around that time, and it sure looked like lots of fun to me. First bike was a 1973 Honda 350 Scrambler, which allowed me to do both dirt riding and street riding. Then I upgraded to a 1972 Yamaha 650 and then a Suzuki 750. Got my first Harley in 2002, which was a 2001 Super Glide. Currently ride a 2009 Ultra. Favorite places to ride are in the mountains out west (Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, South Dakota, etc.). Been out there many times. Last count I had ridden through 33 states on my Harleys. Been a chapter member since November 2014. I am retired, so I plan to do a lot more riding.
